Assassins’s Creed Red će biti prvi u serijalu rađen isključivo za trenutnu generaciju konzola. Samim time Red će imati napredniji engine od svih Assassin’s Creed igara, a i developeri će imati puno više mogućnosti za unaprijediti igru. Upravo jedno od tih nadogradnji će biti uništavanje okoliša. Pretpostavlja se da će uništavanje okoliša biti slično nekim drugim Ubisoft naslovima (Rainbow Six, Far Cry…). Sigurno su se iz Ubisofta odlučili za ovaj potez zbog brojnih usporedba nadolazećeg AC Reda s Ghost of Tsushimom.
Nove glasine vezane za Assassin’s Creed Red govore kako ćemo najboljeg prijatelja imati upravo u mraku i tami. Mehanika gašenja bilo kakvih izvora svjetla će biti ključno za izbjegavanje neprijatelja. Ova će mehanika doprinijeti stealthu koji je vrlo važan u Assassin’s Creed igrama. Za kraj iz Ubisofta su još jednom potvrdili glasniku da ćemo imati dva igriva lika, oba će imati svoj stil igranja. Muški lik će biti samuraj za kojeg se vjeruje kako se radi o liku koji je inspiriran afričkim samurajem Yasukeu. Dok će ženski lik biti u ulozi nindže.
