Preload za Deluxe izdanje igra započet će 4. listopada, a igra će biti dostupa za igranja od 6. listopada. Za one koji su uzeli Standardno izdanje, preload će raditi od 6. listopada s pristupom od 8. listopada. Silent Hill 2 će imati nekoliko novih značajki za igrače. Osim ažuriranih vizualnih elemenata i kontrola, nove značajke uključuju nova područja ua istraživanje, ažuriranu borbu, 3D zvuk, pa čak i dulju igru u smislu vremena koje je potrebno za dovršiti priču.
