Nakon što smo dobili pregršt informacija o novom GTA 6 zahvaljujući hakerima Take-Two je odmah poduzeo neke korake. Svi videi i slike su brisani sa mainstream medija na kojima su se nalazili odmah pri njihovom objavljivanju. Strauss Zelnick, izvršni direktor Take-Two Interactiva, izjavio je kako zbog navedene situacije nije došlo do usporavanja razvoja igre te da sve nastavlja prema prvotnom planu.
