Tekken scena upravo je dobila novu, neočekivanu zvijezdu. Hisako Sakai, 92-godišnja Japanka, osvojila je Tekken 8 turnir i tako postala najstarija pobjednica jednog esport natjecanja u ovoj legendarnoj borilačkoj franšizi.
Kako prenosi Automaton, turnir je organizirala japanska esports udruga Care, čiji je cilj potaknuti starije osobe da se uključe u svijet videoigara i esporta. Care već od 2019. organizira turnire namijenjene seniorima, a događaji se prenose uživo uz profesionalne komentatore – baš kao i “ozbiljni” esport turniri.
Sakai je do finala stigla igrajući s likom Claudio, gdje se suočila sa 74-godišnjim Gorom Sugiyamom, koji je igrao s Lili. Unatoč razlici u godinama, Sakai je pokazala zavidnu kontrolu, brze reflekse i dovoljno iskustva da sigurno dođe do pobjede.
Ova priča još jednom dokazuje da videoigre i esport nemaju dobnu granicu, a Tekken, koji već tri desetljeća okuplja igrače svih generacija, dobio je jednu od svojih najljepših i najinspirativnijih priča dosad.
