Ubisoftova live service pucačina XDefiant izašla je na proljeće ove godine, a Ubisoft je za nju imao velike planove. Čak je i broj igračao prešao visokih 15 milijuna.
Ipak s vremenom je broj igrača počeo opadati što je Ubisoft u početku negirao, ali sada je situacija u potpunosti jasna. Pucačina koja je trebala povezati sve Ubisoftove naslove od danas je nedostupna za nove igrače, a oni koji igru već imaju u svojoj zbirci mogu je igrati do 3. 6. 2025., kada će u svojoj trećoj i posljednjoj sezoni prestati s postojanjem.
Mark Rubin, redatelj igre, rekao je kako igra nije bila profitabilna te da su bili spremni čekati jer je ipak riječ o free to play naslovu. Očigledno je to strpljenje zajedno s brojem igrača isparilo. Jedina dobra vijest je ta što će igrači koji su trošili novce u igri dobiti povrat za sve transakcije unutar 30 dana, odnosno puni povrat novca ako su kupili Ultimate Founder’s Pack.
