Ubisoft je najavio da će osnovati novu podružnicu s Tencentom procijenjenu na približno 4 milijarde eura (4,3 milijarde dolara). Tencent će uložiti 1,16 milijardi eura za 25% udjela, a nova podružnica će uključivati IP adrese Assassin’s Creeda, Far Cry i Rainbow Six. Također će uključivati Ubisoftove studije koji se nalaze u Montréalu, Quebecu, Sherbrookeu, Saguenayju, Barceloni i Sofiji.
Izvršni direktor Ubisofta, Yves Guillemot, rekao je kako će ovaj potez označiti prekretnicu u povijesti Ubisofta. Guillemot je također dodao da je ulaganje Tencenta u Ubisoft tvrtki dao sredstva za ubrzavanje promjena o kojima smo raspravljali, odnosno svega onog što igrači žele promijeniti.
Viša potpredsjednica Ubisofta Marie-Sophie de Waubert rekla je kako je ovaj potez Tencenta dokaz koliko vjeruju u Ubisoft, te u razvoj Assassin’s Creeda, Far Crya i Rainbow Sixa.
Bit će zanimljivo vidjeti što će ova suradnja i nova podružnica donijeti Ubisoftu, ljubiteljima serijala i naravno Tencentu.
