Valve je potvrdio da rade na novom sustavu Steam Familya koji omogućuje dijeljenje igara više korisnika.
Iako Steam Family postoji već dugo vremena, on nikad nije bio izvrstan. Ima mana kao što je da se račun koji će dijeliti igre mora prijaviti na Steam na PC osobe koja želi posuditi igre. Također ako vlasnik u isto vrijeme igra neku igru, vi u tom trenu ne možete igrati nijednu posuđenu igru.
Napokon će tome doć kraj, te će dijeljenje igara biti lakše i bolje. Novi sistem će raditi na sistemu grupa u koju se korisnici priključuju putem pozivnice vlasnika grupe. Pristup igara dobit ćete svim igrama koje posjeduju svi članovi te grupe.
Također sada ne morate briniti da nećete moći igrati igru koju ste posudili ako netko koristi Steam u isto vrijeme. Jedino nećete oboje moći igrati istu igru, tako da idalje će svi iz grupe morati kupiti kopiju igre. Međutium ovo je svakako dobro za singeplayer ljubitelje, jer igru može kupiti jedan prijatelj i podijeliti je svima da igraju.
U grupe će moći maksimalno biti 6 članova i ako napustite jednu grupu u tu niti jednu drugu grupu ne možete se vratiti narednih godinu dana. Tako da morate biti pažljivi u koju grupu ćete uć i koliko ćete ostat. Jedina tužna vijest je da će Steam developerima dopustiti da odaberu žele li dopustiti svoju igru da se može dijeliti između grupa.
