Splinter Cell film u kojem je trebao glumiti Tom Hardy je otkazan, barem tako tvrdi jedan od producenata filma. Dvanaest godina nakon što je prvi put objavljeno da je film u razvoju, producent Basil Iwanyk upitan je o stanju ovog filma. U som odgovoru za The Direct, Iwanyk je potvrdio da se film neće realizirati jer se stvari nisu uspjele posložiti.

Vjerojatno je većina obožavatelja koji su tada čuli ovu vijest o prvom Splinter Cell filmu i zaboravili na nju. Međutim ako spadate u kategoriju onih koje je otkazivanje Splinter Cella uznemirilo, nemojte biti previše uzrujani. Ubisoft nastavlja raditi na svom remakeu prvog Splinter Cella, koji trenutačno cilja na izlazak negdje u 2026. godini.
