Igra je fokusirana na multiplayer, a igrači koji su isprobali test verzije igre nisu baš bili zadovoljni. Novi trailer koji je bio predstavljen na Game Awardsu je pokazao da nebi trebalo biti borbe na brodovima, a jako značajna će biti istraživanja na otocima.
Nakon 4 godine, igra bi trebala imati napokon siguran datum izlaska. Zaplovit bi trebali 16.2. sljedeće godine, uz to da ako kupite premium verziju igre ili ste pretplaćeni na Ubisoft+ igru možete zaigrati i 13.2.
