Prema službenoj objavi, PUBG više neće biti moguće preuzeti ni igrati na Xbox One i PlayStation 4 od 13. studenog 2025. Nakon tog datuma, igra će se ugasiti na tim konzolama odmah nakon redovnog održavanja servera. No, igrači ne moraju brinuti o svom napretku. Svi podaci računa i kupljeni predmeti ostat će sigurno pohranjeni, a prelazak na novu konzolu bit će jednostavan.
Ako se prebacujete na Xbox Series X|S, možete automatski nadograditi na novu verziju putem Smart Delivery sustava. S druge strane, prebacivanje na PlayStation 5 je malo teže jer zahtijeva ručno preuzimanje nove verzije iz PS Storea kada update postane dostupan.
Krafton ističe da je razlog micanja PUBG-a sa stare generacije konzola stavljanje fokusa na trenutačnu generaciju. Cilj im je pružiti pošteno iskustvo na svim platformama, a to znači stabilnih 60 FPS-a i dodatne opcije prilagodbe. Na Xbox Series S igrači će moći birati između Resolution Mode (viša kvaliteta slike) i Performance Mode (veći FPS). Dok će na Series X i PlayStation 5 igrači uživati u najbolje mogućem vizualnom iskustvu uz stabilne performanse.
PUBG je na konzolama startao još 2018. godine, a ovim potezom ulazi u novu fazu gdje će se potpuno fokusirati na mogućnosti koje pruža aktualna generacija hardvera.
