Prije točno godinu dana svijetlo dana ugledo je PlayStation VR2. Unaprijeđena verzija Sonyeve virtualne stvarnosti koja je trebala u potpuniti sve ono što PlayStation 5 nudi.
Sony nije i ne smije biti pretjerano zadovoljan s onime što su postigli u 365 dana od plasiranja PS VR2 na tržište jer igrači nisu zadovoljni. Iako je riječ o odličnom komadu tehnologije samom po sebi, podrška za njega nije dobra. Vrlo mal broj igara koje su na njemu dostupne da će igrača ostaviti bez teksta. PlayStation je gaming brend pa je malo poražavajuće kada Meta (Facebook) uspije osigurati ekskluzivnost nekih naslova za svoj Meta Quest.
Sony se zato odlučio za vrlo logičan potez, a to je da PS VR2 učine kompatibilnim s računalima ne bi li si proširili tržište. Dolaskom na računala PS VR2 dobiti će brojne naslove koji do sada nisu bili kompatibilni s ovim VR setom. Tako ćemo po mnogima najbolji VR naslov Half-Life: Alyx moći odigrati na taokđer po mnogima najboljem VR-u. Sve to očekuje nas nekada tijekom 2024., točan datum Sony nije otkrio.
