Privateer je nadolazeći single player akcijski RPG koji obećava donijeti svježinu u žanr svemirskih avantura. Developer Alexey Glubokovskiy (Glue_BQ) obećava nelinearnu priču i mogućnost odabira jedne od zaraćenih frakcija. Igrači će tako moći sami birati misije, sklapati ugovore, pomagati NPC-ovima ili ih iskorištava. Svaka odluka će imati svoje posljedice.
Igrači tako preuzimaju ulogu bjegunca iz ropstva na rudarskom asteroidu, koji se nalazi u neprijateljskom sektoru s ukradenim svemirskim brodom i nekoliko suputnika. Cilj je preživjeti u surovim svemirskim prostranstvima i ući u legendu.
Svemirske bitke su srž igre, s mogućnošću kupnje novih svemirskih brodova, unajmljivanja posade i nadogradnje opreme. Budući da je Privateer akcijski RPG, igrač će moći odabrati specijalizaciju svog lika. Moguće je tako biti mačevalac, topnik, pilot lovca, trgovac ili diplomat, i tijekom borbe koristiti najbolje vještine. Igrači će također moći sudjelovati u epskim svemirskim bitkama protiv neprijateljskih brodova i svemirskih stanica, što obećava intenzivne i uzbudljive trenutke. Osim toga, igrači će se tijekom igranja moći iz trećeg lica moći boriti protiv neprijatelja i pljačkati njihove brodove.
Najveća inspiracija prilikom kreiranja Privateera bile su igre Sea Dogs (piratske avanture, frakcije i sloboda u donošenju odluka) i Mass Effect (pogled iz trećeg lica i sf žanr). Igra je već dostupna za prednarudžbu na Steamu, a izlazak je zakazan za početak sljedeće godine.
