Dark Queen je 2.5D akcijska avantura u razvoju za PC i aktualne konzole. inspirirana je slavenskom mitologijom i hrvatskim folklorom (primjerice književnim djelima Augusta Šenoe i drugih velikana hrvatske književnosti, kao i legendama o kraljici Barbari Celjskoj, zloglasnoj vladarici Medvedgrada).
Vizualni stil podsjeća na bajku, s bogatim i šarenim krajolicima koji oživljavaju slavensku mitologiju. Gameplay je pak inspiriran klasicima kao što su Prince of Persia, Inside i Limbo, kombinirajući platformerske elemente s dubokom pričom i atmosferičnim okruženjem.
Igrači preuzimaju ulogu srednjovjekovnog viteza koji se vraća kući nakon iscrpljujućih križarskih ratova, samo da bi otkrio da je njegova domovina obavijena tamom zle kraljice.. Igrači će se boriti protiv raznih čudovišta i epskih šefova kroz raznolike pejzaže, od začaranih šuma do pustoši.
Razvojni studio Downtown Game Studio kroz igru želi promovirati, tematizirati, ali i popularizirati kulturnu baštinu i tradiciju kontinentalne Hrvatske te privući pažnju na manje poznate aspekte povijesti i kulture ovih krajeva. Razvoj projekta sufinanciran je od strane HAVC-a (Hrvatski Audiovizualni Centar).
