HBO je najavio kako će snimati treća sezona The Last of Us serije i to uoči dugo iščekivane premijere druge sezone koja je rezervirana za 13. travnja. Prva sezona se temeljila na Naughty Dogovoj istoimenoj igri iz 2013. godine, druga sezona se bazirala na The Last of Us Part 2 iz 2020. godine. Od prije nam je poznato kako su kreatori Craig Mazin i Neil Druckmann rekli kako razmišljaju o snimanju ukupno četiri sezone.
Druga sezona bi trebala pokriti jedan dio radnje koji se odvijao u The Last of Us Part 2, tako da je logično za očekivati kako će treća sezona pokriti drugi dio radnje. Za sada, sve ukazuje na to da će četvrta sezona biti finalna, ali nije isključena opcija da HBO “ubije” još jednu seriju zbog zarade.
