PlayStation 1 bio je revolucija u gamingu donio je velika poboljšanja spram tada aktulanih SEGA i NINTENDO konzola. Kasnija verzija PS One izašla je 2000 i također danas slavi rođedan, tek 23. Početna cijena bila je vrlo niskih 299 dolara što se iz današnje perspektivne čini vrlo nisko kada znamo da je danas teško pronaći PlayStation 5 za manje od 500 eura.
Zahvaljujući PlayStation One verziji iz 2000. godine dobili smo i prvi DualShock kontroler koji je tada bio revolucionaran. Njegove značajke prenešene su na sve naredne koje je izradio Sony. Njemu u čast izrađen je i PlayStation Classic kakvog mi u redakciji ponekad zaigramo. Riječ o umanjenoj verziji s predinstaliranim igrama na emulatoru koje možete zaigrati gotovo bilo gdje jer se nabaja putem micro USB kabela.
