Blizzard je odlučio otpustiti ekipu koja je radila na PvE sustavu unutar Overwatch 2. Iako ovo i dalje nije službeno potvrđeno od strane Blizzarda, vjerujemo Jasonu Schreiereru koji tvrdi da je situacija takva. Prisjetimo se kako je Overwatch 2 prošle godine umjesto obećane PvE kampanje dobio tek nekoliko manjih misija. Sve su bile slične, a igrači su se ponovno žalili. Blizzard je htio dodatno zaraditi pa je iste naplaćivao 15 eura. S druge strane imali smo bijesne igrače koji su namjerno bojkotirali Blizzardov mini projekt.
Danas pišemo kako Overwatch 2 izgleda gubi svoje PvE misije zbog slabe predstave koju su imale. Samim time, Blizzard je otpustio PvE tim i odustali su od bilo kakvih budućih PvE sadržaja za Overwatch 2. Vjerujem kako će većina fanova tvrditi da Overwatch 2 nikada nije ni trebao imati fokus na PvE, nego da je odmah trebao sve snage usmjeriti ka PvP sadržaju koji ih je proslavio. No, ono o čemu sa sigurnošću možemo pričati je pad Overwatcha. Naslova koji je nekada bio u top 5 najpopularnijih multiplayer igara, a danas jedva ulazi na listu kao što su “najaktivnije” pucačine na Steamu.
