HBO nas ponovno vodi u Derry, s nadolazećom horor serijom IT: Welcome to Derry, koja će poslužiti kao prequel popularnim filmovima iz IT serijala redatelja Andyja Muschiettija. Novi teaser, koji je trajao nešto više od dvije minute, upravo je objavljen i daje nam prvi jezivi pogled na povratak legendarnog klauna Pennywisea.
IT: Welcome to Derry će se sastojati od devet epizoda, a radnja započinje 1962. godine, u razdoblju koje prethodi događajima iz IT: Chapter One. Inspiraciju crpi iz istoimenog romana Stephena Kinga, koji dokumentiraju katastrofalne događaje u povijesti Derryja. U romanu je Derry opisan kao grad u kojem zlo nikad ne spava, a IT: Welcome to Derry bi to samo trebao i potvrditi. Redatelj Andy Muschietti, koji je režirao oba filma, režira i nekoliko epizoda serije, te već planira širenje ako HBO da zeleno svjetlo. Muschietti ima plan da se druga i treća sezona odvija 1935. i 1908. godine.
Najveća vijest za fanove jest potvrda da se Bill Skarsgård vraća kao Pennywise, čime će serija zadržati kontinuitet i atmosferu filmova. U glavnim ulogama također su: Taylour Paige (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), Jovan Adepo (The Stand), Chris Chalk (Gotham), James Remar (Dexter), Madeleine Stowe (Revenge), Stephen Rider (Daredevil), ali i brojne druge poznate glumačke face iz svijeta horora.
Scenarij za prvu epizodu napisao je Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift), dok funkciju showrunnera dijeli s Bradom Calebom Kaneom (Crystal Lake). Serija IT: Welcome to Derry stiže na HBO Max u listopadu 2025., baš na vrijeme za sezonu Noći vještica. Sudeći po traileru, očekuje nas još dublje istraživanje povijesti zla koje proganja Derry svakih 27 godina.
