Mnogima nije sjeo novi grafički izričaj BioWarea kojeg su primjenili na najnovijem nastavku Dragon Agea. Smatraju kako je previše šaren te da podsjeća na crtiće pa od tud i dolazi naziv Pixar. Bilo kako bilo djelu igrača se i sviđa pa su se zato ljubitelji Mass Effecta zabrinuli kako BioWare neće istu filozofiju prenijeti i na njima omiljeni serijal.
Glavni producent BioWarea i glavni odgovorni za novi Mass Effect, Michael Gamble odgovio je gaming javnosti kakav će dizajn biti primjenjen na Mass Effect. Odgovor je bio vrlo jasan i kako kaže dokle god on vodi projekt Mass Effecta igra će imati fotorealističnu grafiku.
