Microsoft vjeruje da će GTA 6 izaći 2024. godine, a službenu najavu bi trebali dobiti u listopadu 2023. godine. To su zaključili analizom dokumenta od 111 stranica koji je podnesen Upravi za tržišno natjecanje i tržište u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu.
Unutar sadržajnog dokumenta našao se i Microsoftov citat koji glasi: “Očekuje se da će dugoiščekivani Grand Theft Auto VI biti objavljen 2024. godine.” No, zatim smo dobili zanimljivu izjavu izvršnog direktora Take-Two Interactivea, Straussa Zelnicka:
“Planovi za sljedeću Grand Theft Auto igru su postavljeni i očekujemo da će Rockstar Games biti jedna od naših izdavačkih kuća za koje se očekuje da će lansirati novi naslov u fiskalnoj 2025., što bi, naravno, bio sljedeći Grand Theft Auto koji bi trebao biti lansiran tada. Hm, uh, 24. listopada, da budemo precizni.”
Nakon što je ova izjava dospjela na društvene mreže fanovi su postali skeptični, te su mislili kako je riječ o umjetnog inteligenciji. Ako je stvarno riječ o lažnoj izjavi ona se slaže s onim što su iz Microsofta izjavili. Bilo kako bilo sve ove informacije treba primiti s određenom dozom optimizma.
