Iako se proteklih tjedana pisalo o tome kako bi se u novom nastavku God of War mogli sukobiti s egipatskim bogovima čini se kako ćemo se ipak vratiti na sam početak serijala. Razlog tome bili su raspisani natječaji za glumce bliskoistočnog porijekla što su mnogi povezali s novom God of War igrom koja ipak neće biti smještena u antičkom egiptu.
Prema tvrdnjama insajdera Toma Hendersona na razočarenje mnogih ipak nećemo ići put Egipta nego ćemo se vratiti u Grčku i to puno prije početka prvog dijela igre iz 2005. godine. Time bi opet pratili odnos oca i sina, ali ne na onaj kojeg smo navikli u posljednje vrijeme. Putovanjem u period prije prve igre serijala pratili bi odnose nestašnog Kratosa i njegovog oca Zeusa.
Nikada mlađi Kratos osobno mi se čini kao odlična ideja za igru. Pogotovo jer bi to bio prvi put da igramo kao Kratos u Grčkoj u novom formatu God of War igara.
