Iako je prije ove ekspanzije najavljena Euro Truck Simulator 2 ekspanzija koja nas vodi u Grčku, developeri su otkrili kako nas nova ekspanzija šalje na sjever kontinenta. Ekspanzija će se zvati Nordic Horizons i proširit će zemlje koje su unutar Euro Truck Simulator 2 već dostupne. Imat ćemo iskustvo vožnje po Norveškoj, Finskoj i Švedskoj, te po drugim mjestima sve do Arktičkog oceana.
Izvan cesta imat ćemo priliku ugledati životinje poput jelena, medvjeda i sobova. Doduše još nije poznato hoćemo li imati probleme s njima i hoće li biti moguće njihovo izlijetanje na cestu. Developeri su poručili kako Nordic Horizons ekspanzija cilja točno određen tip igrača. Naime, ona će biti najbolja za one igrače koji vole duge i opuštajuće vožnje u kojima mogu uživati u okolišu.
Sve u svemu Euro Truck Simulator 2 dobiva hrpetinu ekspanzija, a ovo je prvi put u povijesti ove igre da je najavljena nova ekspanzija dok ona prethodna još nije ni izbačena. Datum izlaska Nordic Horizons još nije poznat.
