Turska i Argentina su cijene igara na Steamu uvijek imali u svojim valutama. Tako su sve igre bile jeftinije nego što zapravo jesu, npr. neka igra koja košta 50 eura, u Turskoj ona košta 80 Lira odnosno 2,65 eura.
Valve je napokon donio odluku da će se stoga u tim državama početi koristiti dolari. Ova promjena dolazi 20.11. Ovakve cijene u tim državama su zbog velike inflacije njihove valute. Zbog tog razloga je prvo Valve zabranio poklanjanje igara drugima u tim državama. Međutim ljudi su našli drugi način kako jeftino kupovati. Koristili bi VPN usluge te napravili lažne naloge u Turskoj/Argentini.
Turska i Argentina nisu jedine države zahvaćene ovim promjenama. Valve je najavio da će se ova promjena dogoditi i u još 23 država diljem Centralne i Južne Amerike, Središnjem Istoku i Sjevernoj Africi. Unatoč ovoj promjeni valuta, igre na tržištima tih država možda i neće previše poskupiti, možda neće uopće ni poskupjeti. Valve se dogovorio s developerima da oni odluče o cijeni svojih igara na tim tržištima.
