Capcom je službeno najavio Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, novu igru iz RPG podserijala smještenog u svijet popularnog Monster Huntera. Igra je u razvoju za Nintendo Switch 2 i očekuje se tijekom 2026. godine. Treći nastavak serijala ponovno donosi taktičke borbe i fokus na pripitomljavanje čudovišta, ali uvodi i novu narativnu dinamiku. Prema službenom opisu, igra prati blizance Rathalosa rođene sudbinom, čija pojava pokreće niz događaja koji uključuju sukob dvaju kraljevstava, klimatsku katastrofu i potragu za istinom u zabranjenim zemljama. Glavni protagonisti, inače nasljednici zaraćenih kraljevstava, udružit će snage kako bi razotkrili pravu prirodu prijetnje.
Nintendo je nadodao kako će igrači “ponovno preuzeti ulogu Ridera koji živi u skladu s čudovištima i istražuje bogati svijet u novoj igri iz Monster Hunter Stories serijala”. Prvi Monster Hunter Stories objavljen je 2016. za Nintendo 3DS, a 2024. godine je dobio remasteriranu verziju za Switch, PlayStation 4 i PC. Nastavak, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, izašao je 2021. za Switch i PC, a potom i za PlayStation 4 iste godine. Serijal se ističe i po posebnoj liniji amiibo figura, što ga čini jednim od rijetkih trećih strana koji su dobili tu čast. Još nije potvrđeno hoće li i treći nastavak dobiti svoje amiibo izdanje, no s obzirom na tradiciju, velika je vjerojatnost da hoće.
