Naime, uoči izlaska Modern Warfare 2, sve je ukazivalo kako će to biti jedan od najpopularnijih Call of Duty naslova do sada, a to je i službeno potvređno. Svi znamo da rekordan broj igrača znači i ogromne prihode, tako je Modern Warfare 2 u prva tri dana prodaje generirao preko 800 milijuna dolara zarade, što ga čini najvećim zabavnim produktom uopće ove godine ispred Doctor Strange i Top Gun filmova.
Activision tu ne misli stati te najavljuje dosad neviđenu razinu post-launch podrške za Modern Warfare 2 te Warzone 2.0, navodeći kako franšiza nikad nije bila u boljem stanju.
