Gaming zajednica danima bruji o misterioznoj statui koju je Geoff Keighley pokazao uoči The Game Awards 2025. Fanovi su odmah počeli nagađati čemu služi i na koju se igru odnosi, a najpopularnija teorija bila je ona za novi God of War. Međutim, tu je teoriju sada službeno (i poprilično hladnokrvno) opovrgnuo čovjek koji to najbolje zna – Cory Barlog.
Luke Stephens je tijekom svojeg streama raspravljao s publikom o toj misterioznoj statui, a onda se iznenada u chatu pojavio Barlog. Bez okolišanja, kratko i jasno je poručio: “no, it’s not gow.” Drugim riječima, statua nema apsolutno nikakve veze s God of War franšizom, koliko god su se fanovi nadali da serijal odlazi u Egipat, to očito nije slučaj… barem za sada.
Iako statua nije povezana s Kratosom, postoji mogućnost da se serijal ipak pojavi u nekom obliku. Godinama kruže glasine o novoj 2D God of War Metroidvania igri koju navodno razvija mali interni tim Santa Monica Studija. Ako se pojavi, The Game Awards bi bio savršena pozornica za to. Za sada nitko ne zna što nas čeka za vrijeme TGA dodjele, a nikako ne pomaže ni Keighleyjeva poruka. On je na svojem X profilu objavio fotografiju statue s opisom “regal.inspiring.thickness”.
