Scenarij za Scream 7 napisao je Guy Busick, kojem ovo također nije prvi Scream film. Busick je napisao scenarije za Scream 5 i Scream 6. Što se detalja oko radnje filma tiče, oni se drže u tajnosti, ali se očekuje da će najnoviji dio sage vratiti fokus na Sidney i njezinu obitelj.
