Prošla su otprilike dva tjedna otkako je Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 lansiran na PC-u. Igra je pri lansiranju odmah dobila “šarene” kritike, a igračima se nije svidjelo kako je igra bila optimizirana. Naravno tu je onda odmah započela priča o standardima i razini posvete developera na određenu platformu. Recenzije su prikazale i naglašavale velike probleme koje igra ima na ovoj platformi, a danas je izašao jedan poražavajuć podatak. U prva dva tjedna Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 postao je jedan od najgorih naslova koji je s PlayStationa došao na PC.
Kada gledamo prosječan broj igrača i postotak pozitivnih ocjena, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 imao je jedno od najgorih lansiranja bilo koje Sonyjeve igre na PC. Samo dvije PlayStation Studios igre su imale gore lansiranje na Steamu, a to su The Last of Us: Part 1 i Returnal. S druge strane, tri najbolja lansiranja imali su God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered i Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut.
