IEM nakon velikog eventa u Riu nastavlja sa svojim velikim turnirom u Katowicama. Pozvano je već 8 ekipa na Group Stage, a još 16 ih se bori za prolaz.
IEM Katowice je uz Major u godini najveći event koji se događa u CS:GO Esportu. Ekipe na njemu se bore za prepoznatljiv veliki prekrasan IEM trofej, a 8 ekipa je već spremno. 8 ekipa koje su pozvane na Grupnu fazu su:
Ove ekipe su svoj plasman zaslužili svojim uspjesima kroz cijelu godinu. Neke ekipe i nisu osvojile turnir ove godine, međutim na većini su imali dosta dobre rezultate koji su ih doveli do visokog ranka na ESL world rank listi.
Na Group Stage može doć još 8 od 16 ekipa koje se bore na dodatnoj Play-In fazi. Ovdje ima nekih većih timova koji nažalost nisu dobili direktan poziv, ali svakako su veliki favoriti za prolazak u ovoj fazi. Ekipe pozvane na Play-In fazu su:
