Italija je prva zemlja u svijetu koja je zabranila neki oblik umjetne inteligencije koji se ovih dana nudi korisnicima putem interneta. ChatGPT kojeg predstavlja tvrtka OpenAI je zbog “kršenja” zakonskih regulativa zabranjen u Italiji, ali postoji mogućnost povratka.
Naime, Italija je zabranila ChatGPT zbog kršenja pravila privatnosti odnosno svima poznati GDPR. Žele transparentniji prikaz načina na koji ChatGPT prikuplja i obrađuje podatke korisnika. Također veliki problem predstavlja to što je ChatGPT otvoren svima, ali baš svima. Talijani tako brinu za svoju djecu i ne žele da im sve bude u potpunosti dostupno te žele da ChatGPT uvede provjeru godina pri ulasku na stranicu. Bar za korisnike koji se spajaju iz Italije.
OpenAI kao vlasnik ChatGPT-a tvrdi kako rade sve u skladu s eurospkim zakonima, no Italija se ne slaže te im je dala 20 dana rok da naprave promjene u svom AI-u ukoliko žele zadržati svoju poziciju na talijanskom tržištu.
