U svojoj najnovijoj objavi na X-u, ekipa iz Arrowhead Gamesa potvrdila je da će novi Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond izaći 13. lipnja. Prema PlayStation blogu, ovo ažuriranje će dodati nova oružja, oklop i još nekoliko stvari. Što se novih oružja tiče, ona će biti predvođena trocijevnom sačmaricom koju igrači mogu koristiti kao sekundarno oružje. Osim nje, dolazi i nož za bacanje, jer ipak ovo ažuriranje nosi riječ Commandos u sebi! Posljednja novina od oružja je karabin, AR-23A Liberator.
Novi oklopi zovu se PH-9 Predator i PH-202 Twigsnapper. Viper Commandos Warbond također će uključivati razne nove kozmetičke proizvode. No, Helldivers 2 uvodi i prilagodbu/uređivanje vozila. Razvojni programer se oglasio na svom X profilu vezano za izlazak ovog ažuriranja, te su poručili kako ne žele brzati, već igračima žele dostaviti što uglađenije ažuriranje.
Treba napomenuti kako je prije samo nekoliko tjedana Arrowhead Game Studios imenovao novog izvršnog direktora. Riječ je o Shamsu Jorjaniju, dok će Johan Pilestedt i dalje biti glavni kreativni direktor uz objašnjenje kako na to poziciji žele imati nekoga tko će 100% svog fokusa usmjeriti ka igri i njenoj zajednici!
