Fortnite više nije glavna tema gaming svijeta već neko vrijeme. Čak i oni najvjerniji se napustili igru i okrenuli se nečemu novom. Razlog tomu je sve manje originalnosti koju nove sezone imaju. Igrači su nezadovoljni i to su Epicu vrlo jasno pokazali. Prihodi su zato sve manji, a pala je i popularnost Fall Guysa čiji je studio Epic kupio odmah po velikom uspjehu igre.
Sada su zaposlenici Mediatonica na najvećem udaru unutar Epic Gamesa te je velik broj njih dobio otkaz. Sve ukupno je oko 900 zaposlenika Epic Gamesa otpušteno radi srezivanja troškova. Bila je i priča kako je cijeli Mediatonic ugašen no to se na kraju nije ispostavilo kao istinito.
Brojni bivši djelatnici Epica obznanili su to na društvenim mrežama kako bi što prije pronašli novo zaposlenje jer ipak nije mala stvar u svoj studio dovesti djelatnika s takvim iskustvom.
