Electronic Arts i BioWare službeno su najavili da će Anthem, nekada ambiciozna online akcijska RPG igra, biti trajno ugašena 12. siječnja 2026., kada se njezini serveri konačno gase. To znači da će igra biti dostupna još više od 180 dana, ali nakon toga više neće biti igriva. Od danas više nije moguće kupovati premium valutu u igri, no sve preostale jedinice moguće je iskoristiti do gašenja servera.
Mnogi su se zapitali zašto igra ne može funkcionirati offline, na što je EA odgovorio kako je Anthem od samog početka zamišljen kao isključivo online iskustvo. Bez aktivnih servera, igra više neće funkcionirati, čak ni u single-player modu. Treba naglasiti kako će 15. kolovoza 2025. godine Anthem biti uklonjen iz EA Play ponude, a gašenje servera slijedi u siječnju 2026. godine. Ako već posjedujete igru, moći ćete je instalirati i igrati do datuma gašenja, ali nakon toga, igranje neće biti moguće.
Dobra vijest je da EA ne planira dodatna otpuštanja povezana s gašenjem Anthemovih servera, unatoč valovima otkaza u cijeloj industriji.
