SEGA i Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, poznat po Like a Dragon serijalu, podijelili su prvi gameplay isječak iz nadolazeće igre Virtua Fighter. Ovim naslovom će legendarni borilački serijal službeno zakoračiti u novu generaciju čime je legendarni borilački serijal službeno zakoračio u novu generaciju. U kratkom videu koji traje oko minutu, prikazana je borba između Akire i Sarah Bryant na trening pozornici, bez HUD-a, glazbe ili komentatora. Riječ je o prvoj službenoj demonstraciji gameplaya, za razliku od prethodnog isječka kojeg smo dobili u siječnju koji je nosio famoznu oznaku “pre-development engine footage”.
Na kraju videa, developeri su natuknuli kako će više detalja vezano za Virtua Fighter biti otkriveno tijekom Tokyo Game Showa u rujnu. Postoji mogućnost da ćemo tada otkriti hoće li ova igra biti reboot, nastavak ili nešto potpuno novo unutar Virtua Fighter univerzuma. I dok čekamo više informacija o novoj igri, SEGA priprema izlazak unaprijeđene verzije Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. na konzolama. Ova verzija, koja je već dostupna na PC-u od siječnja, a sada stiže i na PlayStation 5, te Xbox Series X|S 30. listopada, dok će verzija za Nintendo Switch 2 doći naknadno.
Igrači koji već posjeduju Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown na PlayStation 4 moći će nadograditi na World Stage verziju za nižu cijenu.
