Hideo Kojima poznat je po svom radu na Metal Gear serijalu, ali toga se zasitio o odlučio osnovati svoj razvojni studio kojem je upravo Death Stranding bio prva igra. Veliku ulogu tu je imao PlayStation koji je i bio vlasnik IP-a i time ograničio prodaju igre isključivo na PlayStation i PC. Sada kada je sve u rukama studija igrači na Xboxu dobiti će priliku da zaigraju Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
Distribuciju same igre vrši 505 Games, a na Microsoft Storeu igra košta 39.99€, ali trenutno je na dvotjednoj akciji pa ju možete kupiti za svega 19.99€.
