Nakon uspješnog Ace Combata 7 iz 2019., serijal se vraća s novom pričom, modernom tehnologijom i još jednim spektakularnim zračnim ratovanjem. Ace Combata 8: Wings of Theve stiže 2026. na PS5, PC i Xbox Series X|S.
Priča ovog puta kreće nakon događaja iz sedmice, ali prije Ace Combata 3. Igrača upoznajemo kao pilota bez identiteta kojeg iz mora spašava nosač aviona Endurance, prepun izbjeglica nakon što je FCU pao pod brzu invaziju Republike Sotoa. Vojni otpor je razbijen, a vi dobivate nadimak Wings of Theve. Uz trojicu novih suboraca krećete u borbu za povratak domovine.
